Minding Your Movie Business

The March on Washington Film Festival will offer this series of three workshops for student and emerging filmmakers in the spring of 2021. Topics will cover areas of interest for writers, directors, and producers of documentary and narrative films. The workshops will be presented on the 3rd Tuesday of the month on March 16, April 20, and May 18 at 7:00 pm EST / 4 pm PST. Each workshop will feature presentations by and/or panels of professionals in the film industry. Each workshop will run for 50 to 60 minutes and will be presented virtually and taped. Each month will also feature one of the winning films from the MOWFF Emerging and Student Competition, as an example or reference point for that month’s topic. The winning filmmaker will be invited to participate in the workshop. The film will be made available for viewing throughout that month on the Eventive platform. Participants will be provided with supporting materials and a suggested list of films for their own viewing. 

The series will be presented by MOWFF and co-produced by MOWFF board member Craig Emanuel, Artistic Director Isisara Bey, and Producer Broderick Johnson.
